Luis Estrada Swimming Scholarship

In 2013, the Estrada family lost a wonderful son and the community lost a young man with a generous heart and a bright future in a drowning accident. In Luis’ honor, his friends and family created an ongoing memorial scholarship fund through the Montrose Recreation District that would provide swimming lessons for children who cannot afford them. They would like to help prevent this tragedy from happening again.
To donate to this important nonprofit service, mail checks to the Montrose Community Foundation, P.O. Box 3020, Montrose CO, 81402 with “Estrada scholarship” in the memo line. You can also use our “Donate Now” button at the top of this page and choose “MRF Luis Estrada Swim Fund” in the pull down menu of the donation process, or call MCF at 970-249-3900.
